Jack Wright

Jack Wright started out with the Southern Railway in February, 1968, at Hayne Shop in Spartanburg, South Carolina. That year, he joined the Brotherhood Railway Carman’s King Mountain Lodge 43, where he served as Secretary in 1970, and from 1971 he served as the 2nd and 3rd Vice Chairman on the Local Protective Board before being elected as Local Chairman in 1985. He continued to serve for 10 years. Following his transfer of membership to Lodge 6205 in Linwood, North Carolina, Wright served as Local Chairman of that Lodge from January, 1996 through October, 1997 when he took the position of Asst.General Chairman/General Secretary Treasurer of the Norfolk Southern Joint Protective Board #200. Wright has served on Joint Protective Board 200 as Vice General Chairman from 1987 until September 2005. In September 2005, he was elected to the position of Assistant International Representative. He was appointed by GP Johnson to the position of International Representative of Unit 200, Brotherhood Railway Carman of TCU. He held this position until his retirement on October 31, 2009. Wright also served as a member on the Carman Executive Board for 4 years.

Brother Wright is the Past Master of Fairforest Masonic Lodge No.393. He is a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of Hejaz Shriners of North America, Lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He also is an active member of American Legion Post #200. He serves at Secretary for the 108th Division Griffon Association. He also served as the Chaplain for four Conventions for the Carman Division and TCU.

Brother Wright also is a 35 year retired Command Sergeant Major in the U. S. Army Active and Reserve.

He and his wife, Barbara, have been married for 48 years and have two children, Anthony (Tony) Wright and Tonya S. Stone. They have five grandchildren: Justin, Jordan, Shelby, Nina, and Dylan.
