Dave Overmann
Dave Overmann began his employment with
the Missouri Pacific Railroad in July
1965 as a carman apprentice in St. Louis,
Missouri at the 21st Street freight car
repair track. In August of 1966, Dave
was transferred to East Jefferson Repair
facility for passenger cars.In 1967 Dave was set up to be a Journeyman Carman and was then transferred to DUPO Illinois and worked at the freight car repair track until June of 1968. From 1968 until 1972 Dave served a four enlistment in the Air Force. He then returned to the Missouri Pacific Railroad in St. Louis at the 21st Street freight car repair track where he finished his apprenticeship and became a Journeyman Carman. This included all aspects of freight car inspection, light and heavy freight car repairs, welding, mechanical and air brake inspections and outbound train preparation. Dave was Chairman of the Local Protective
Board from 1974 to 1977. Dave worked
on the St Louis Road Truck from 1976
to 1986. In 1982, he was assigned to
work the new Mobil Crane in conjunction
with the road truck. Dave has also
worked the train yards in St. Louis,
inbound and outbound. In 1986, he was
transferred to the Desoto Car Shop
in Desoto, MO where he retired in January,
2007. Since January of 2007, Dave has
been actively involved in the investigation
and preparation of injury cases under
the Federal Employers' Liability Act.
